Another Amazing Day…

Couldn’t go to bed without ONE picture to post for Kathryn. This was at the end of the day. And even though they didn’t REALLY run away in a train, it was a fun to pretend! We had a blast with you two today! Thanks for letting us tag along!

Julie & James

This past Saturday we were blessed to get to spend the day with an adorable couple. We knew we loved Julie already… we’d had fun at her bridal shoot and spent plenty of time planning her day up unto this point. But we hadn’t been able to meet James, due to distance. And since you never know what kind of groom you’re going to end up with when you don’t have the chance to win him over beforehand, we were nervous to walk into this one blindly. Turns out there was nothing to worry about! James was hysterical, and even though you can’t tell it from the below image, he has the BEST facial expressions. Sure, most of them are while he’s being a goofball, but that’s what we love! Ha!

Anyway, thanks to the both of you for such a wonderful day! It really was beautiful and we loved being able to share it with you! We’re just as excited to see how the images came out as you are, so here’s a sneak peek… you may recognize it already. ;)

Farm Livin’

I love it when we can go to locations that actually MEAN something to the clients. Last week we met with Keri and Chris at his parents’ home, which connected to their family farm. Without being TOO overly hoe-down, we loved utilizing bits and pieces of the barns and silos and such, knowing that these are places that he grew up running around as a kid. They were just lovely to work with and we can’t wait for their wedding in October! On a side note, can you BELIEVE that this girl is shy and insecure about herself? Why is it that the REALLY pretty ones never know how pretty they are? We love her. :)

Baby Elisabeth

We don’t often go to the homes of our clients, even though it’s been something we’ve been open to for a long while. Lately, though, I’ve been offering it more in the hopes that we could get out of the studio for some newborn shoots. I was wanting to stretch our creative juices! Today we got to visit with a former bride and groom as they were welcoming baby Elisabeth home. We LOVE that we get to work with past wedding families… and it makes me happy that they choose to stick with us after their FIRST big day. :)

I love my clients…

All I can say is, Katie and Phil are simply amazing. It has NOTHING to do with their pictures, and everything to do with who they are, as people. We are so thankful for them… and they know why. They’re so amazing, in fact, that they deserve a same-day sneak peek… especially since Phil was pretty convinced that nothing was going to be salvageable from their windy Fort Macon shoot. So here’s my initial favorite… I haven’t even looked through everything completely… but this stood out as one that showed how they felt about each other and didn’t even hint at what a struggle this day was! :)

Thanks, you two… for everything. :)

Fin

I haven’t updated you on OUR little (or not so little) boy! Fin is growing like a weed and is four and a half months old now! Hold on to your socks, cause he’s also a whopping 21 pounds! See? I told you he was growing! I took a picture of him this week and thought I’d show you! Isn’t he adorable? I could just eat him up!

Molly-Pop!

So, God didn’t give me a little girl this time around, but he DID give my wonderful friend Courtney one! When I showed up at their house today to do Molly’s newborn shoot, I had a little girly outfit in tow… and I told Court that she just needed to accept the fact that I’d have one of these things to give her every month or so… because it’s just TOO much fun to shop for little girls!

We spent the morning hanging out by the window. Molly’s big brother Becton was there to join us for a few shots. But as in love as he is with his baby sister, he was equally as thrilled to head over to the dining table to draw. So we didn’t force the issue. After all, he’s just a year and a half. I brought Fin to get some “guy time” in… he may be a baby, too, but he weighs about five pounds less than Becton, so he’s got size to make up for what he lacks in age. ;)

If you notice someone missing from these shots, it’s certainly not on purpose! Dad came in half-way through the shoot, but it wasn’t to participate… he was, shall we say… under the weather. But we’re heading back Sunday afternoon to get some more with the whole family! For now, here are some of my favorites. :)

Ahhh… Dara & John! Jeff had so much fun with them this week on their engagement shoot! There I was, stuck at home with a baby and a bad back, while he got to traipse about town with these two. I was jealous. And when he brought me the pictures to edit, I was a bit pouty. But in the end, it’s just important that they got good images, right? And I think they did!

Sweet Ele

Jeff got to hang out with the Elden family! We always look forward to their shoots because they’re one of those families that really gets our style of photography. They aren’t out to capture everyone looking at the camera and smiling… they want to capture moments together. It’s why love ‘em! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that their daughter is AMAZINGLY adorable.

She wasn’t so certain at first… but could there BE a more cute “uncertain” face than that?

This is one of my all-time favorite family shots. Really irritating that Jeff’s the one who took it. :D

Saturday was our first wedding of the season! The first wedding in over a year where I wasn’t pregnant! Woo! It was great to be back in the swing of things and thinking on our feet again. I think the winter blues had started to set in… I was more than ready to jump in and hit the ground running!

Brooke was an awesome bride… even before the wedding day, we were having fun taking her pictures. Jeff did a wonderful engagement session with them, and I was able to get creative at Tryon Palace for her bridals. Of course, that had been all hush-hush until after the wedding, but we can post a few of them now for you all to see! Tell me this girl ain’t gorgeous!

Jeff was also in New Bern with the couple a week or so later… William was a little camera shy (like most of our grooms!), but they were able to relax and get some really cute shots! You can totally tell they’re in love! :)
