The Browns

Jeff and I took off to Rocky Mount today to do a session with our good friends, Clay & Kellie. Their girls are pure energy wrapped in cute clothes! But we managed to get some really fun shots! In the past, we’ve opted for more posing with this family… getting those great smiles and everyone looking at me. But this time we wanted more interaction, especially since the girls were lacking their naps and probably wouldn’t have gone for the traditional style! I think it worked out nicely. :D

A Senior Session Miracle!

Most of you know that it takes 9 months to a year to get in with us for a shoot… many have learned the hard way! Alex’s mother knew the odds were stacked against her, but she decided that she would just TRY and see what happened. Luckily for her, the day she called we had JUST had a cancellation come in for that very week. So we were able to get Alex in faster than ANYONE has EVER gotten in with us! And I’m so glad we did, because this was a simply lovely mother and daughter.

We asked Alex to tell us a bit about herself so that we could cater the shoot to her personality and not do anything cookie cutter… you’ve seen those sort of shoots… kind of an insert-your-kid-here mentality. We really don’t like doing that. Once we got a feel for the type of girl we were hanging with, it was easier to head out to their barns and have some fun. Our “girl next door” who loves horses and nature was quite at home. And to her happiness, we never ONCE asked her to “be sassy” (she’ll get that one, even if you don’t). ;)

DRAMA!

We love it when we can break out of our standard “wedding/children/family” mold and do something a little bit different. This week, we actually had two promo/headshot sessions scheduled. One was today (the other is Saturday). Both are lovely girls that are amazingly photogenic. With Coleman, we went for the drama… isn’t she good at that??? :D

We’ve opened up this new date to accommodate more Quick Shoot sessions! If you want to get in for one of these, give the studio a call (252-525-1003) or shoot Katelyn an e-mail (katelyn@melaniemansfield.com) so she can reserve your spot! These are great for Christmas cards and gifts! So don’t miss out!

Here are a few from October 31st that we loved! See? Fifteen minutes gets you great shots! :D
