Life…

Last night Jeff and I attended the annual EPIC banquet (Eastern Pregnancy Information Center). I was drawn in by the testimonies both from people who were adopted as a product of a mother choosing life, and from those who chose abortion and found grace and forgiveness through Christ. It was even more amazing as we were all allowed to watch a big screen that showcased a live sonogram being done in another room within the facility. The fingers and toes so clearly defined… the heartbeat going over 160 beats a minute. The legs stretching out to create room in the tiny home. I was all weepy watching this life that God created… how the baby didn’t even know that a couple of hundred people were watching it lounge around, already hopeful for its little life that was barely 12 weeks along in its journey.

Then today I began processing a newborn shoot from last week… Anna Scott’s little cord still attached to her tummy.  She was so tiny and perfect. I kept thinking about the baby in the sonogram and how Anna Scott was once that exact size… and still? God knew her. She was already part of His plan and according to Scripture, her days had already been numbered. Isn’t that amazing? So I wanted to design something that really helped people think along those lines when they see one of my newborn shots. I found the verses that said exactly what I wanted to say… and I had Katelyn (my new graphic designer) plug in some pretty artwork around it. I’m hoping to give one of these to EPIC for their new location.

Courtneay & Jordan

We had a wonderful shoot this past Sunday with a fun couple. Courtneay (and yes, I’m spelling it right!) was a bridesmaid in one of our last year’s weddings… she was the clown of the day. So when she came to interview for a spot with us, I was thrilled to add her in! For their engagement shoot, she and Jordan wanted to hit her great-grandparents’ farm… as well as one of her dad’s cotton fields. Rain prevented the original date from working, but her dad was gracious enough to keep the cotton out a couple of days more so that we could get them in the field before it was picked clean!

Here you go my little Facebook Bride… a TEASE it is! ;)

STOP!!! That’s all you get!!! :D

It’s… HER

Remember when I excitedly posted about the bride who wrote an article in Her Magazine about us? Well her engagement shoot was a couple of weeks ago and we had a blast out at her grandmother’s farm in the middle of nowhere. Seriously, if it weren’t for my little Garmin navigator telling me what to do, we’d have never found them. But we did and it was well worth it! She’s ADORABLE! Special props goes to her awesome groom who agreed to dress in Fall attire even though it was HOT that day. :D
