What a wonderful time we had yesterday at Rock Springs! Tons of girls passed through our way and we had great conversations (as well as sad ones when we had to pass along news of already being booked for their date!). This is when the flood gates open… hope we’re prepared! :)

Does it GET any funnier than this???

Seriously. I’ve been looking for the perfect set of images to place in a collection and this one just SCREAMED to be used. We were out on their family farm the week the piglets were born and ended the shoot out at the pen. It was the one time during the whole hour that Evan actually WANTED to have his picture taken. He was so happy with that baby pig!

I admit it…

I’ve become addicted to sky shots. I think it’s because no matter how many days in a row I head out to this one special location, God gives me a brand new view. Today’s Divine Painting was specifically for the McKnights. I’m gonna try not to get jealous if He chooses to give my own family vastly different clouds than theirs. Cause when I think of a shot like this, below is what I’ve always had in mind.

The rest of their shoot can be viewed here.

If I could choose my favorite way to do family shoots, it would be like the pictures of my kids below. Just hangin’ out in regular clothes and taking pictures of them just being them. It’s really what got me into photography to begin with… capturing REAL moments and not contrived ones. You don’t have to tell little boys in a fort to pretend like they’re playing around… you don’t have to tell a kid at the beach to pretend like they’re having fun. They ARE playing around and having fun!

With all of the weddings and all of the portraits that we have on our plate, it was great to get out of the house and just shoot things as they naturally unfolded. One of these days, I’m gonna convince people that it’s the way to go. ;)
