To prop or not to prop…

Categories: Uncategorized | Comments Off

That’s never been a question. :D

I’m not a fan of “things” in pictures. That’s why you won’t see a giant number one next to a toddler, or a fake staircase or a backdrop with a farm scene and your child surrounded by stuffed pigs. Some people think it’s cute… but I’m not some people. However, I do like to see splashes of color here and there, as long as it doesn’t compete for attention with the main subject. Last week I found a great upholstered chair at a used furniture store and it’s exactly what I’d want for a “prop”. :)

The pacakges for the 2007 Spring Ball will be running about a week or so behind schedule. Thanks for your patience as we try to stay on top of our busy season. :)

We had a sweet shoot with a family from Goldsboro last week. Rain had kept them at bay for a while, as well as our busy schedule. But we were finally able to get the Stumbos over to Kinston for their shoot. In a couple of months, this Air Force family will be hitting the road to a new location, and while we’ve enjoyed getting to know them over the past couple of years, I envy their chance to see new places! Here’s my favorite family snap of the day.

Less than two weeks until Portia gets married! I hope everything is coming along well for them. This is crunch time forĀ  brides. Right about the time they get to settle in and relax, it’s MY turn to get tied up in knots… just a different kind than they experienced. ;)

Tempe… it’s not just a town in Arizona

Monday was our first wedding of the season. And what a wonderful start it was! It was the most romantic ceremony we’ve seen… and we’ve seen romantic ceremonies! Jim and Tempe are an amazing couple and their Outer Banks wedding in Rodanthe was like a fairy-tale. We are so grateful to have been a part of their day. If the rest of the season can be as wonderful as the beginning, we’re in for an incredible year!

Here’s a sneak peek… let’s see if they find it!

Happy Easter and… Birthday!

Today has been the most relaxing day I’ve had in a while. It’s easy to accomplish when the rest of the people in your world are acknowledging the same holiday as you… well, ONE of the holidays. Today is Easter (He is risen!)… but it’s also my husband’s birthday (he is aging!)! And in honor of that? No work! Gotta love it. :D

School Days…

Just had a weekend of homeschool portraits a few days ago. About 100 kids over two days out at a friend’s home in the country. It was Mabry’s first official school portrait (now that she’s three and I consider her to be pre-schooling). These two shots show her two-sided personality quite well. ;)
